🚀 The Opportunity: A role with Real Impact
As a Data Scientist at HAL24K Agri, you will create intelligent systems to address problems in agriculture, including crop monitoring, assessment of soil health and soil biodiversity, and asset optimization. Your role involves data analysis, statistical methods, numerical modeling, optimization, and predictive modeling to tackle complex and interesting questions. You will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and data analytics solutions to help farmers and agricultural businesses make informed decisions, with the goal of driving sustainability and positive change. We are a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that values creativity, scientific rigor, and research-backed approaches.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI models and algorithms using Python, deep neural network platforms, and other AI-related methodologies
- Identify and optimize asset management, crop growth, and soil life through advanced data analysis
- Act as a bridge between the Data Science and Biology departments to ensure knowledge transfer and optimization of analyses
- Closely collaborate with the Engineering department on the deployment and monitoring of the solutions you develop
- Standardize measurement methods and analysis results to ensure consistency and reliability
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to enhance the applicability of data-driven solutions within the agricultural sector
What you bring
🎓 Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Data Science or a closely related quantitative field; or a PhD in a science, or technology related discipline
- Solid experience in analysing complex and/or large datasets
- Experience in building AI/machine learning models
- Experience in data visualization and presentation of results.
- At least 3 years of programming experience (any language)
📘 Knowledge & Expertise
- Knowledge of Python and relevant libraries (e.g. numpy; pandas; matplotlib).
- Strong background in statistics
- Familiarity with working with Jupyter notebooks
- Familiarity with using a version control system (e.g. Git, svn)
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Knowledge of a deep learning network framework (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Nice to have: Exposure to (soil) biology, microbiology, and/or agronomy

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Python programming
- Data Analysis and Visualization
- Desirable: Deep Learning Model Development with PyTorch
- Desirable: Working knowledge of Git
- Very Desirable: Skills in Computer Vision
- Good communication skills
- Team player with a proactive and hands-on attitude
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, start-up environment
